Greenwich Stow Creek Regional School District two small communities in rural Cumberland County both of which enjoy a high quality of life reminiscent of a bygone period. This small school quality of life is growing increasing difficult for small districts to afford while at the same time offering educational opportunities that prepare their students to thrive in a rapidly evolving economic world. By sharing facilities, faculty and resources, the Greenwich Stow Creek Regional School District has met this challenge.

The district offers students from both communities superior educational opportunities and participation in various extracurricular activities—activities that otherwise would not be practical in the student’s home district.  As the district’s primary school, Morris Goodwin now has enough students to support activities that were previously not available to students.  Special offerings for enrichment have been incorporated into the daily schedule.  Likewise, Stow Creek School, as the district’s middle school, now has enough students to support complete departmentalization with subject-certified, highly-qualified teachers in every area. Previously unavailable courses such as Algebra can now be offered to the combined districts’ students.  Instructional technology has been integrated into the curriculum at one of the highest levels for a school of any size.

By taking advantage of the economies of scale their combined numbers permit, the Greenwich Stow Creek Regional School District endeavors to maximize their limited financial resources and provide the students from both communities with the best education possible. The district is an innovative solution that has enabled both communities to provide its young people with a world-class, high-quality education while at the same time maintaining the small school as the center of the community.

Morris Goodwin School

Morris Goodwin School houses primary grades for the students of Greenwich and Stow Creek Townships: consisting of Preschool through 3rd grade.  At Morris Goodwin, students are provided a top-notch education that focuses on developing a strong foundation of Math and Literacy skills and emotional development.  Every grade level begins each day with the core subject areas of Language Arts and Mathematics saving all special area subjects for the latter portion of the day.  During the school day students are exposed to a vast array of educational enrichment experiences.  An example of these enrichment experiences begins in Kindergarten as students are exposed to SMART™ Technologies and Chromebooks.  This exposure continues through third grade and into the Stow Creek School using SMART™ Boards in each grade level.  Students in third through eighth grade use Office 365 in order to prepare them for High School and the workforce.  With our latest advances in curriculum and offerings in music, art, technology, and individual piano lessons the Morris Goodwin School is superior in developing a well-rounded child prepared for the rigors of higher education.   The Greenwich Stow Creek Regional School District stands as a partnership that educates students for the future through proven high-level 21st Century teaching methods and emotional development strategies.
